A straight-talking FAQ on Liquid Death's Cereal Criminal: what it tastes like, how much sugar it has, and whether the fruity-cereal soda-style sparkling water is worth buying.
Quick answer
Cereal Criminal is a soda-style sparkling water with a fruity-cereal flavor and far less sugar than regular soda. Buy it if you want a sweet, nostalgic taste without a full-sugar drink; skip it if you prefer plain, unsweetened sparkling water.
Where Cereal Criminal fits in the lineup
Liquid Death's core identity is unsweetened sparkling water, but Cereal Criminal sits in the sweeter, soda-style lane. That matters if you usually drink plain sparkling water: this is a different experience, closer to a dessert-flavored soda than to a crisp mineral water.
The flavor is built around a fruity-cereal idea rather than a single fruit. If you like the milk-left-in-the-bowl flavor of fruity breakfast cereal, this is aimed at you; if you want a clean citrus or berry taste, look at the brand's other flavors instead.
The honest trade-off: flavor versus restraint
Cereal Criminal delivers big flavor, but it is not a zero-sugar drink. It has 3g of sugar and 15 calories per can, which is much lower than a typical soda but still more than plain sparkling water. If you are counting every gram of sugar, treat this as an occasional treat rather than a daily hydration swap.
It also has no caffeine and no artificial sweeteners, so it will not give you an energy boost and it avoids the aftertaste some people dislike in diet sodas. The trade-off is that the sweetness comes from real sugar, just at a reduced level.
What the ingredients list does and does not tell you
The listed highlights are 3g sugar, 15 calories, no caffeine, and no artificial sweeteners. Those are the facts to check against your own dietary preferences. The catalog does not spell out the full ingredient list or the exact flavor components, so if you have a specific allergy or want to avoid a particular sweetener, confirm the details on the can before you commit to a full pack.
The cans are described as infinitely recyclable, and a portion of proceeds goes to help kill plastic pollution. That is a brand-level detail rather than a flavor one, but it is part of what you are buying into.
Cereal Criminal FAQ
- What does Cereal Criminal taste like?
- It is a fruity-cereal flavor in a soda-style sparkling water. Expect a sweet, nostalgic breakfast-cereal taste rather than a plain or subtly flavored water. If you dislike sweet drinks, this is not the flavor to start with.

- Is Cereal Criminal caffeinated?
- No. The catalog lists it as caffeine-free, so it will not replace coffee or an energy drink.

- The supplied product information highlights 3g sugar, 15 calories, no caffeine, and no artificial sweeteners, but it does not provide a full ingredient list. Confirm the complete list on the can if you have allergies or specific dietary needs. Do not assume the full ingredient list from the marketing highlights alone.
