The second I put it on I felt like I'd been tapped for some kind of sacred duty, and the woven straw has that dense, sun-beaten weight that promises it's seen a few seasons of real work. It's not just a hat; it's a calling, and it sits low enough to keep the glare off your face while you answer it.

The weave is tight enough to survive a rogue wave and still snap back to shape, which I tested more than once. Strap held firm in a gusty wind too, so I didn't have to chase it down the beach.

Wore this on a scorching beach day and the brim kept the sun off my neck way better than my old cap. The straw feels sturdy but light, and I got a few compliments from strangers, which never happens to me. Fair warning: it does make you feel a little like you're on a secret mission, and I'm not mad
