I was nervous ordering a hat online, but the material is thick and stiff enough to hold its shape even in strong wind. The brim keeps the sun off my neck completely without flopping into my eyes.

Finally found a wide-brim that actually stays put in a stiff ocean breeze, and the chin strap doesn't chafe after a full afternoon on the beach. The dark underside did a great job cutting glare off the water.

The hat's material is a bit stiffer than I expected for something described as "lifeguard" style, so it doesn't fold up easily for travel. It does block sun well on the beach, though I wish the chin strap was adjustable.
